“I know there are no words or thoughts that take away the hurt and heartbreak you, Doug & Baylee are going through. My heart is heavy and my mind is on praying for you all. I pray God comforts you all, wraps His arms around you and tries to bring you peace.
Though the days and weeks ahead may seem fuzzy or long, know that you have friends & family here to listen when you need an ear, a shoulder when you need to cry and just being there for whatever you need.
You & Doug are some of my oldest/dearest friends. Baylee has become one I truly treat like one of mine. Tyler will be remembered for his smile, his hard work, his ability to touch other’s lives, his willingness to serve & help others- all things he learned from his family.
My prayers are with you all. If you need anything just let me know.”
I posted these words to Becky Brewer’s Facebook page this past weekend. Words can never take away the hurt.
When you’ve lost a loved one, it seems like the world stops. If it is the child of a life-long friend the hurt is almost as real for you as it is them.
I am going to honor Tyler Scott Brewer: son, brother, veteran, Marine, friend and loved one by doing something we do not usually do in the newspaper business.
A moment of silence.
We will all miss you Tyler and we will all take care of your loved ones because that is what a community and friends do.
