Roxie Ware, 101, widow of Russell Ware, died on September 26. She was born September 19, 1916 to the late Jeff and Alice Kennon McKinney. Survivors include, Sons, Henry Ware, Stanton and Eddie and wife, Anna Ware, Clay City; Daughters, Barbara Sue and husband, Virgil Faulkner, Clay City and Anna Mae Wiseman, Clay City; Grandchildren, Lee J. Faulkner, Nancy Mann, Jr Ware, Heather Clark, Anthony Ware, Paul Howard, Jeffrey Howard, Cathy Tipton, Janie Dennis, Ryan Nolan, and Cody Nolan and 15 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Leon McKinney. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Alice McKinney, husband, Russell Ware, son, David Ware, and brothers, Earl McKinney and Robert McKinney. Services were held on September 29 at Davis & Davis Funeral Home by Bro. John Combs.
Burial was in Clay City-Eaton Cemetery with Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers serving, Leon and Catherine McKinney, Phyllis and Bobby Carmichael, Gary Carmichael, Luvinia and Ronnie Blakemore, Brenda McKinney, Tammy Green, Beulah Conner, Robin Smith, Nora Lee Walters, CAnn Cunningham, Dr. Charles Noss, and the staff at Windsor Care Center. Davis & Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Grover Steven Barnett, Sr., 66, of Clay City, Kentucky died on September 25. He was a son of the late Earl and Sarah Olinger Barnett in Hamilton, Ohio on July 24, 1951. He was a Rockwell International employee.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Stamper Barnett of Campton, one son Grover Steven Barnett, Jr. of Clay City, and one daughter Stacy Reynolds of Berea, one step-daughter Charity Ison of Campton, 10 grandchildren, two brothers Dewight Barnett and Jimmy Barnett both of Clay City, one sister Anita Easter of Irvine and host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Sarah Olinger Barnett; and one sister Lisa Powell. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service was held on September 30 at the Porter & Son Funeral Director’s Chapel with family and friends sharing memories. Porter & Son Funeral Directors of Campton were in charge of arrangements.
