A faith based support group for those suffering from the loss of a loved one. If you are feeling sad or depressed, having a hard time coping with your loss, or simply need to talk. The Supporting Angels Support Group will be meeting every Monday night, at 5:30 p.m. at Harbor of Light (Old Hood’s Skating Rink). The group will be led by Bro. Jimmy Cole.
Ware Cemetery Donations

Nolan Cemetery is in desparate need of donations for the upkeep. If not enough money is donated, everyone will have to be responsible for mowing their own plots. Donations can be made by mail to Wynona Nolan Blythe, 661 Maple Street, Stanton, Ky 40380.

Never Ending Grace
Hurts, Habits, or Hang-ups? The Public Library is taking donations
of VERY GENTLY used DVD’s and Blu-ray discs as payment towards any fines and fees you may have on your library account! Bring those discs in that are just gathering dust on your shelf and pay off those old fines! Please, no damaged or scratched discs- the director has the final say on accepting or rejecting any discs.

Retired Teachers Meeting
The Powell County Retired Teachers met Friday, August 11st at Stanton Christian Church. Each member brought their sack lunch and drink. Several teachers brought dessert for everyone. President Elect, Virginia Todd, called the meeting to order, Tabitha Spencer led in pledge to the flag. Grider Denney led in prayer. Our guest speaker was James Anderson. He spoke concerning improvements made in the county without raising taxes, and jobs which have been added in the past year. Today was the grand opening of the new Senior Citizens Center. He also spoke concerning some new jobs that will be going on in the county. All committee reports were given. Several of the teachers are planning to attend a district meeting being held in Berea on Monday the 28th. Members present were Mary Lou Potts, Nellie Anderson, Ralph Higgins, Betty Craft, Grider Denny, Kaen and Celort Gilbert, Dee Robbins, Zelma Lambert, Tabitha Spencer, Roslyn Lacy, Janet Foster, Esther Kearns, Virginia Todd and Jean Derickson. Guests were James Anderson and Cory Graham. There will not be a meeting in September. Attend and enjoy the fair. The next meeting will be Friday, October 13th at Whitaker Bank at noon. There will be am insurance speaker, please try to attend.
The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia, and Alzheimer’s Disease
If you have a loved one who is newly diagnosed, or if you just want to learn more about Alzheimer’s disease, this program is for you. This presentation will explore what everyone should know about memory loss issues and what they mean for all of us. The program will be held on Wednesday, October 18, from 10:00am-11:00am at the Boyle County Senior Center located at 569 Jean Drive in Danville, KY.
