Bertha Blankenship, 101
Bertha Catherine Blankenship, 101, widow of Ralph Blankenship, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9 at Wolfe County Health & Rehab, Campton. She was born Jan. 19, 1912 to the late Richard and Ida Mae Clemmons Adams. She worked at Kentucky Foothills for 30 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Rita and husband, Donald Lowry, Stanton; sister, Edna Estes, Lexington; grandchildren, Bonnie White, David and wife, Penny Lowry, and Keith and wife, Connie Lowry; great-grandchildren, Kisha White, Barina White, Jessica and husband, B.J. Gardner, Harry Lowry, Tosha Lowry, and Shae and husband, Stuart Baird; great great-grandchildren, Kylee Strange, Tara Wright, John David Wright, Harry Lowry III, Daylan Lowry, Hayden Moore, John David Tolson, Kennedy Gardner, and Lucas Ray Tolson; and a Special Friend, Gaythel Conner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Stanley Adams, Robert Adams, Chester Adams Virgil Adams, and Richard Adams, grandson, Neil Lowry, and great-grandson, Ryan Keith Lowry.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Davis & Davis Funeral Home, Stanton. Burial was in Stanton Cemetery with Willie Profitt, Birddog Willoughby, David Lowry, Keith Lowry, Harry Lowry, B.J. Gardner, and Stuart Baird serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers serving were Gathel and Jerry Strange, Judy Potts, Lois Davis, Virginia Witt, Reese Strange, Teresa Kinser, Connie Johnson, Charlotte Lamb, Glenda Birch, Barbara Bunch, Joyce Carl, Ray & Lena Rogers, and Members of the Clay City Baptist Church.  http://www.ddfh.net/

John Clemmons, 75
John Clemons, 75, husband of Rose Clemons, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013 at The Stanton Nursing Center. He was a retired roofer.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; two sons Mark Clemons of Stanton and Jerome Clemons of Clay City; five daughters Taffy Alexander (Barry) of Clay City, Bobbi Anderson (Andy) of Willis, TX Debra Hurlburt (Raymond) of Lima, OH, Corrin Wilburn of Lexington and Cheryl Patrick Stanton; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; three sisters, Opel Stacy of Stanton, Edna Judy of Mt. Cory, OH and Carmel Homan of Ada, OH; and three special care givers, William Barker, Barry Alexander and Sandra Kenniston.
He was preceded in death by one son, John Clemons Jr.
Private family services were held on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at the Eaton Cemetery. Pallbearers for Mr. Clemons were Barry Alexander, William Barker, Darian Alexander, Joseph Conner, John Clemons III and Dakota Miller. Grayson Funeral Home was in charge of services.

Elizabeth Everman, 92
Elizabeth Emily Tipton Everman, 92, North Main Street, Stanton, widow of Emmitt Lee Everman, passed away Friday, Feb. 8 at her home. She was born Sept. 4, 1920 in Rosslyn to the late Pleas and Louis Wierman Tipton. She was a homemaker and retired seamstress. She was a member of the Stanton First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include, daughter, Diana Elam, Stanton; grandchildren, Pam and husband, Rick Bowlby, Robin and husband, Jeff Perry, and Donald E. and wife, Joanna Elam; great-grandchildren, Emie Bowlby, Sasha Bowlby, Matthew Elam, Jeffrey Perry Jr., Christopher Elam, Kaitlyn Perry, Rebecca Elam, Brianna Bowlby, and Justin Perry; brother, Morgan and wife, Dorothy Tipton, Stanton; sisters, Zanna Anderson, Stanton, Yvonne and husband, Charles Martin, Stanton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Emilee Morguson, brothers, Pleas Tipton Jr., Elbert Tipton, Hugh Tipton, and Herbert Tipton, and sisters, Opal Wicker, Mary Lane, Minnie Tipton, Golden Bowen, and Gladys Trent.
Services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at  Stanton First Presbyterian Church, Main Street. Burial was in Stanton Cemetery with Rick Bowlby, Donald E. Elam, Jeff Perry, Emie Bowlby, Sasha Bowlby, Matthew Elam, Jeffrey Perry Jr., Christopher Elam, Kaitlyn Perry, Rebecca Elam, Brianna Bowlby, Justin Perry, and Corey Roberts serving as pallbearers. Fred Hensley, 77
Fred Hensley, 77, passed away on Feb. 7, 2013.  He was born on Dec. 22, 1935 to Ila McCoy Rogers.  He was a decorated Vietnam War Veteran, receiving two purple hearts in the line of duty.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Ila Rogers; step-father, Hezzie Rogers; brother, Otis Rogers, two sisters, Betty Carrier, and Eva Curtis, and brother-in-law, Anthony Goodwin.
He is survived by brothers, John Rogers and Ronald and Joyce Rogers, Clay City and Ted Rogers of Stanton; Sisters, Marcia (Marty) Gerstenfeld of Cleveland, OH, Helen Vanpoortfliet of Stanton, Judy Goodwin of Clay City, Nancy Rogers of Stanton, Shirley (Jim) Gordon of Lexington, and Vickie Rogers of Stanton; A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Davis & Davis Funeral Home.  Burial was in Rogers Chapel Cemetery.  Pallbearers serving were his nephews, H.K. Goodwin, Tony Goodwin, Eric Rogers, Lynn West, O.J. Rogers, Kevin Rogers, and Matt Gerstenfeld.

Charles R. Parker, 83
Charles Ray Parker, 83, husband of Garnetta Wells Parker for 59 years, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at his home. A native of Fayette County, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Horn Parker.
Ray was a farmer, a member of the American Legion Post #22 and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Norma (Don) Shuler and Latricia Spivey; three grandsons, Jason (Shelly) Spivey, Marshall (Tonya) Spivey and Trevin Henry; three step-grandchildren, Tim Shuler, Vickie Sipes and Jennifer Elliott; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Reagan, Chandler and Ashlyn Spivey; six step-great-grandchildren, a brother, Robert Cecil (Margie) Parker; three sisters, Dorothy Lee Tomlin, Anna Marie Slemp and Betty (Bill) Wilcox; a half-brother, Gerald Snowden and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert J. Parker and a sister, Ola Mae Patrick.
Services were conducted on Sunday, Feb. 10 at Scobee Funeral Home by Rev. Chris Williams. Burial followed in the Log Lick Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post #22.
Pallbearers were Jason and Marshall Spivey, Trevin Henry, William Patrick, Michael Richardson, Gary Hornsby, Jay Parker and Donald Lowry. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Reed, David Goldey, Darrel King, Lloyd Wells, Greg Gukeisen, Mike Spivey, Dr. Thomas Burchett, Chad Barrett, Terry Jones, Doyle Spry and Eddie Tomlin. Eileen Potts, 85
Eileen Potts, 85, passed away on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 at Clark Regional Medical Center. She was a retired Government Employee at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
She is survived by one daughter Carolyn E. Schirmer of Clay City, five grandchildren Megan Schirmer of Texas, Brooke Schirmer of Mt. Sterling, Ashley Schirmer of Clay City, Ryan Schirmer and Tyler Schirmer of Clay City; two great grandchildren; and one brother Michael F Olah of Xenia, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Elizaberth Olah and Helen A Traylor.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 with Bro. Marion Brewer officiating, burial followed in the Salem Cemetery.  Grayson Funeral Home was in charge of services.
