Johanna B. Bowsher, 55
Johanna Burnice Bowsher, 55, of Clay City, beloved wife of Robert Bowsher, departed this life Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012 at her residence. She was a daughter of Wanda Faye Vest Ferguson and the late James Shelby Townsend, born at Georgetown on April 14, 1956. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Bowsher of Clay City; two sons, James Charles Alcorn of Lexington, and Thomas Wayne Moon and wife Ramonia of Stanton; one daughter, Wanda Renee Cruz and husband, Celin of Clay City; six grandchildren; her mother, Wanda Faye Vest Ferguson of Middletown, Ohio and Timothy Ferguson of Owensboro. She was preceded in death by her father, James Shelby Townsend. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Jan. 27, 2012 at Porter and Son Funeral Directors Chapel with Diana Harrison and Clyde Hunt officiating. Burial followed in the Spencer Cemetery in Rogers. Pallbearers were Celin Cruz, Dale Townsend, Christopher Ferguson, Joseph Moon, Thomas W. Moon, and Robert Bowsher. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Townsend, Timothy Ferguson and Michael Townsend. Porter and Son Funeral Directors of Campton were in charge of arrangements.
George T. Graham II, 65
George Timothy Graham II, 65, of Stanton and formerly of Wolfe County departed this life Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at his residence. He was a son of the late George Timothy I, and Lillian “Lee” Tyra Graham, born at Dayton, Ohio on Sept. 19, 1946. He retired from Rockwell Manufacturing Company, and was a United States Army Veteran having served in Germany at the end of the Vietnam Era. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by one son, George Timothy Graham III and wife, Bethany of Harrodsburg; one daughter, Jessica Graham-Pittman of Stanton; two grandsons, Ryan Graham and Tyler Pittman; one granddaughter, Skyler Pittman; four brothers, Steve Graham of Stanton, Daniel Graham of Paris, Stanley Graham of Corbin, and David Graham and wife, Judy of Stanton; seven sisters, Shirley Graham, Betty Spain and husband Bobby, and Brenda Graham-Lindon all of Lexington, Beverly Cammack and husband John of Lawrenceburg, Patricia Young and husband, Kenny of Berea, and Loretta Spencer and Delphia Graham, both of Winchester; and a large number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Victoria Graham; and his parents, George Timothy I and Lillian “Lee” Tyra Graham. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted on Jan. 30, 2012 at Porter and Son Funeral Directors Chapel at Campton with Rev. Bobby Hollon officiating. Burial followed in the Graham Family Cemetery at Frozen, in Breathitt County. Pallbearers were Scott Graham, Jason Graham, Austan Graham, Mason Williams, Wesley Graham, Derick Todd, Kevin Hollon, Robert Pittman, and Dave Pittman. Arrangements were entrusted to Porter and Son Funeral Directors.
Tammie Schaefer, 43
Tammie Schaefer, 43, passed away Saturday, Jan., 28, 2012 in New Bern, North Carolina. Tammie is survived by her parents Michael and Nina Schaefer of Stanton, seven sisters: Nina Land of Clay City, Karen Cowell of Stanton, Katherine Collins (Richard) of Stanton, Victoria Schaefer of Tenn., Valerie Schaefer of Clay City, Krystal Dees (Doug) of Clay City and Brittany Tate of Clay City.
She is preceded in death by one brother Michael Scott Schaefer.

Ida M. Tharpe, 100
Ida Mae Tharpe, 100, widow of Forest Tharpe, of Stanton, passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 31, 2012 at the Stanton Nursing Center. Born in Powell County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Polly Abner Morton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Furnace Road Pentecostal Church. In addition to her parents and her husband she was also preceded in death by two sons, Fredrick Tharpe and Tom Tharpe.
She is survived by two sons: David (Ida June) Thorpe and Bill (Linda) Thorpe both of Stanton; one daughter, Polly (Carl) Moreland of Canton, OH; a daughter-in-law, Linda Tharpe of Stanton; a special niece, Minnie Harrison of Stanton; a first cousin, Harding (Helen) Abner of Stanton; 10 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services officiated by Bro. Edward Tackett and Bro. Warren Rogers were held on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 at Hearne Funeral Home Chapel, 125 West College Avenue, Stanton. Interment followed in the Tharpe Cemetery with Dan Thorpe, Russell Moreland, Harvey Morton, Gregory Morton, Carl Moreland, Jr. and Jerry Morton serving as active pallbearers.
