Class of 1986 Reunion
PCHS Class of 1986 is organizing its 25 year reunion for Spring 2011. First meeting will be Sunday, June 27 at Kathy’s Diner in Clay City at 3 p.m. Anyone from the Class of ‘86 is invited to attend this meeting. Marine Corps League
Harold G. Epperson Marine Corps League Detachment 1113 will have their regular meeting Saturday, June 26 at 9 a.m. at City Hall in Winchester. There will be no officers meeting on June 24.
Brewer and Roberts Reunion
The descendants of the late Henry and Carrie Brewer and George and Herbert Roberts families will be holding a third reunion at the Powell County Lion’s Club Park on July 24. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., lunch will be served between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Please bring a covered dish and drink. Friends and relatives are welcome, hope to see you there. There will be bluegrass and gospel music so come on out and have a fun filled day with us
Friends of PC Pets Meetings
Friends of Powell County’s Pets hold their monthly meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month at the Clay City Elementary School. For more information call 606-424-4100. If the school is closed the group meets at Hood’s Pizza in Stanton.
The Bennett Reunion will be Saturday, July 10 starting at 11:30 a.m. at Natural Bridge State Park at Shelter #1. The meal will be potluck and everyone can bring drinks for their family. The Community Education Program offered by the Clark County School System will be holding sessions for the State Registered Nurse Aide Training. The Saturday classes will begin on July 24 and will meet from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Tuesday/Thursday evening classes will begin on August 24 and will meet from 5-9 p.m. Rhonda Gilmore, R.N. is the instructor for both classes.
Classes will be held at the Clark County Area Technology Center at 650 Boone Avenue in Winchester. The cost is $220 and textbooks are available at Bethany Book Room also in Winchester. The $75 state testing fee will be collected from students toward the end of their session.
