Stanton Elementary Winterfest
Stanton Elementary will be holding a Winterfest on Friday, Dec. 3 from 5-8 p.m. There will be a talent show, cake walk, bake sale, pie toss, fish pond, Bingo, ornament room, face painting a live auction with lots of donated items from the community. There will also be a chili dinner, $6 for adults and $4 for children. If you wish to recognized through donation please contact Stanton Elementary PTA at 663-3311.
Hanging of the Greens
The Bowen First Church of God will be holding their annual Christmas event, the hanging of the Greens, on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. There will be refreshments afterwards. Come join us as we open the Christmas Season here at the Bowen First Church o God, located at 5555 Campton Road, Stanton.
GTE/Sylvania/Orsam Christmas Brunch
Winchester GTE/Sylvania/Osram retirees are invited to a Christmas brunch at the plant 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9. The menu will be “breakfast” as in years past. Retirees are to enter thru the front door. Service will be available on the first floor for those unable or unwilling to climb stairs. Retirees will be permitted to tour the plant after the brunch. Invitations are being sent by Personnel, but come even if you don’t receive one, but be sure to let Personnel know of the mistake.
The Powell County DAV Chapter #103 monthly meeting is held at 30 Bright Street in Stanton at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday. The next meeting will be Dec. 9. “Building better lives for America’s disabled veterans.” www.dav.org
A Christmas Tea, sponsored by the PCHS FBLA and Art Club, will be held on Friday, Dec. 10 in the Powell County High School Cafeteria from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This will be an inspiring and positive evening for girls. Each person will purchase a ticket from a sponsor of a table, this ticket will seat you at a table designed by your sponsor where you will be provided food and drinks and fellowship. Democratic Executive Board Meeting
The Powell County Democratic Executive Board will be holding a meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Powell County Courthouse in Stanton. All meetings of this board are open to the public and you are invited to attend and be involved.
Dessie Scott Children’s Home at Pine Ridge will be holding a gigantic yard sale in the gym on Saturday, Dec. 4, to help raise funds for children’s Christmas items and cottage needs. The Clay City Elementary SBDM will meet the second Thursday of every month at 5:15 p.m. in the Library until January.
PCMS Site Base
The Powell County Middle School Site Base Council will have regular meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 4:30 p.m.

Diabetes Support Group
