All the senior citizens of Powell County are invited to the annual Thanksgiving Dinner to be held Saturday, Nov. 14 at Our Lady of the Mountains Church, 1093 E. College Avenue in Stanton.  The doors will open at 11:30 a.m.  The dinner will also include music and prizes.  Questions call 663-6817.

The Annual WCG Auction will be held at Stanton First Church of God, 980 East College Avenue, on Friday, Nov. 6, beginning with a “Turkey Dinner” at 5:30 p.m. and donations are appreciated for the dinner.   The auction will begin at 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall with lots of items suitable for Christmas shopping and decorating.  Crafts, home canned green beans, jam cakes, and candies will be available.

Shiloh United Methodist Church Winter Clothing Distribution

Shiloh United Methodist Church will be distributing winter clothing, coats, hats, and gloves to anyone who has a need. Come by Stanton City Park on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10a.m.-12 p.m. (or until supplies are exhausted) and take whatever you or your family can use. The Full Gospel  Evangelistic Ministry will host a Youth Extravaganza at the Estill County Fair barn (located at 38 S. Irvine Road in Irvine) on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 2-5 p.m. There will be hay rides, inflatibles, games, activities & food. Register to win a bicycle, drawing to be held on Dec. 23. On Saturday, Oct. 17, there will be the combination Centennial (can it really be 100 years?!!) Celebration and Homecoming at Mt. Canaan School/Church on Furnace Road. The day begins around 11 a.m. with potluck. Please help spread the word if you (or someone you know) went to Mt. Canaan for school, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, youth meeting, Vespers or live in the area OR just want to come out and help to celebrate 100 years of a one room school building and its history!! Never Ending Grace Community Church Homecoming & Revival

Never Ending Grace Community Church will be having Homecoming on Sunday, October 11, 2015, starting at 10:30 am. We will have Brother Ralph Farmer as guest speaker and the Farmer Brothers as guest singers.  We will have a dinner following the service.  Our revival will begin Sunday night at 6 p.m. with Brother Tim Cole from Eastland First Church of God as guest speaker.  Our revival will continue on Monday and Tuesday night at 7 p.m. with guest speaker Brother Anthony Molihan from Stanton First Church of God.  We will have special singing each night.  Everyone is invited to come out for great worship and fellowship!

Revival & Homecoming at Clay City UMC

The Clay City United Methodist Church will hold a revival Oct. 1-3 with services beginning at 7 p.m. nightly. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jamie Brunk from the West Liberty UMC. On Sunday, Oct. 4 the church will host their Homecoming beginning at 11 a.m. The service will include the dedication of our new fellowship hall. A pot-luck dinner will follow the service.
